Ducks Rising is a new subscription platform designed to provide fans new ways to interact with their favorite athletes. For as little as $10/mo. you can directly support the NIL deals, player interviews and other content designed to give rise to the unique voices of Oregon student-athletes. In addition, members have full access to all the great features and stories created by the Ducks Rising staff and other members of the platform

NIL refers to a student-athlete earning compensation in exchange for the use their name or picture. As of July 1, 2021, the NCAA permits a student-athlete to earn compensation in exchange for participating in NIL activities. NIL activities may include, but are not limited to: social media endorsements, commercials, appearances, autograph signings, and other business activities. Additionally, in May 2021 the Oregon Legislature passed a law protecting a student-athletes right to earn compensation from NIL activities. The state law became effective on June 29, 2021.

Subject to state law, the following is prohibited under the new interim policy: • NIL agreement without quid pro quo (e.g., compensation for work not performed). Student-athlete NIL agreements should include the expected NIL deliverables by a student-athlete in exchange for the agreed upon compensation and student-athletes must be compensated only for work actually performed. • NIL compensation contingent upon enrollment at a particular school. For example, institutions should not use NIL arrangements to improperly induce matriculation (e.g., guaranteeing a particular NIL opportunity upon enrollment); • Compensation for athletic participation or achievement. Athletic performance may enhance a student-athlete’s NIL value, but athletic performance may not be the “consideration” for NIL compensation. • Institutions providing compensation in exchange for the use of a student-athlete’s name, image or likeness.

No. Ducks Rising is not a charitable organization and your membership fees are not tax deductible. Your monthly subscription gives you access to all the exclusive content made available on Ducks Rising.

Ducks Rising has sole discretion in determining which athletes it chooses to work with. We will, however, listen first-and-foremost to our subscribers in making this determination and will make every effort to solicit feedback.
