Recruiting Roundup
It’s been two weeks since the last iteration of a weekly roundup and Oregon has had a ton of news across the two major sports, recruiting, and other big updates. Let’s dive in!
Trio of Priority Recruits announce their commitments
Travis and I continued to tell members that Oregon was a serious dark horse to land 2026 5-Star EDGE Anthony “Tank” Jones, and that came to fruition on July 31st, when he announced his verbal commitment to Dan Lanning and the Ducks.
2026 4-Star DB Davon Benjamin followed suit with Jones on August 2nd, over some competition from the Michigan Wolverines.
It wasn’t all positive however. As recruitments often do, things seemingly flipped a switch for 2026 4-Star DL Deuce Geralds a day before his commitment on August 2nd. The Ducks were firmly in the lead before a major charge from Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers changed that quickly. Geralds would ultimately choose the Tigers and stay closer to home.
Oregon MBB Recruiting Updates:
Dana Altman and staff have been busy for most of this recruiting cycle, and that remains unchanged over the past two weeks. Oregon made the Top 9 Schools for 2026 4-Star SF Luca Foster just today, and will visit Eugene, despite no date being finalized yet. The 6’5 185-pound wing will visit Villanova August 29th, Oklahoma September 6th, Michigan September 13th, Georgetown September 20th, Ohio State September 27th, Virginia October 4th, and also plans to visit Gonzaga, and Pitt. The final two visits to Gonzaga and Pitt, also haven’t been finalized at this time.
